William Shakespeare was writing at the cusp of the Baroque. This magical evening presents selected recitations from some of Shakespeare's best loved sonnets & plays set to music of the lute, recorder, virginal, harpsichord & voice. Included are Shakespeare's Sonnets 116 & 128 & verse from Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, Hamlet, Henry VIII, The Tempest, & Othello. This Soirée offers a complimentary seated early-English themed meal with fine wines.

The program includes music from Venice's Early Baroque; Italy's regional courts of the High Baroque; & Europe's courts where Italy's composers were working at the closing of the Baroque.
